Inglot Haul

YSM foundation 51 - €18
AMC gel liner 77 - €15
Lipstick - €13

So yet again I've been away from my blog and thought it has been way to long since I've done my last post! I haven't been up to much lately except for working and shopping! I have bought a lot of stuff recently which I really need to take a few snaps of to pop them up onto my blog! Anyway, here is some recent products I have bought from Inglot.
It was my first time using all these products from Inglot so I wanted to try them out a few times before popping a haul/review up. I am a big fan of Inglot, they're quality of the products are amazing and they are so affordable! I have listed the products above but I haven't got the number of the lipstick but I'll be doing another post on this which I will include it then. The YSM foundation is a full coverage foundation which feels a bit heavy but not as heavy as other brands I have tried before. It gives a great coverage! The gel liner from Inglot are amazing the best gel liner I have used so far, I also use my brown gel liner to define my brows. The lipsticks lasts all day/night too, I rarely find myself applying more on a night out. Last week I graduated and recieved my Diploma in Professional Makeup Artistry! Woo! So yesterday before work I just HAD to take a trip to Inglot to sign up for my Pro Mua Card and of course I bought something with my lovely discount. I picked up an Amc body sparkles and the famous Duraline to go along with it, unfortunately I didn't take any photo's of the new products I've added to my makeup kit but I will do a post on them very soon! Inglot have also introduced some new sparkles to their range and they are stunning! I cannot wait until my next pay day to get more bits. I will be doing more posts including these products where I will do a more detailed description on them so be sure to keep an eye out!

Have you tried any Inglot products?

Nivea Daily Essentials - Express Hydration Primer

I have to apologize for the bad photo's! I've been taking them off my iPhone since the buttons are broke on my camera! But I will be getting that fixed soon and in the meantime I'll try find another decent camera to use. Few weeks ago I went into a pharmacy in my local shopping centre, they had great deals on Nivea products which were half price so I decided to pick up a few things while they were on offer, including this Express Hydration Primer! With the Winter months here I'm always looking for new skincare products. My skin sometimes feels dehydrated due to laziness of taking my makeup off with makeup wipes so I thought does primer would be some what decent for that! I wanted to give my readers a good review on this so I used this primer for about two weeks now. If you have oily skin like myself, then don't worry you can also use this too!

So this primer claims to:
Provide an even and smooth base for your makeup application and your makeup to stay put.
Absorbs instantly to it's light texture.
Uses an effective hydrator for long-lasting moisture and a soft skin feeling.

To be honest, I didn't think this was going to work well with my skin as I've mentioned I have oily skin, but because it was on offer I thought I would give it a go anyway and let my readers know my thoughts. It is slightly a thin rather than thick constincy which I'm not keen on but it spreads really well which means I don't have to use a lot of it. I know a lot of people that don't like a 'perfumed' smell from their skincare products but I do. It leaves a gorgeous smell and leaves my skin so soft. So far so good! I used this primer each time I was in work doing my 8-9 hour shifts. I am a big fan of this primer as it held my makeup on all day without it feeling greasy nor did it leave me with a shiney look. The joins of having oily skin! It is a great primer for day to day but I wouldn't use it on occassions or nights out as I would be wearing heavier makeup so I wouldn't know how long it would hold my makeup. I do recommend this product if your looking for a primer for day to day basis especially through the cold Winter months it will keep your skin hydrated. I will also pop up another post on some other Nivea products I've picked up so keep an eye out!

Have you tried this primer?

Location: VanityX Make Up Academy www.vanityx.ie

Hey girls, hope your all well. If you have me on Twitter you would no I had an accident two Saturdays ago and unfortunately hurt my hand. Cut it in two places, one needed paper stitches and I literally couldn't move my hand at all. I was out of work with it too which I was raging about as it was my last week on Kids floor, this week I'll be going back to the Ladies floor as I got a new contract. Anyway, my hand is getting much better and I can move it a lot more now so today is my last day off I decided to get back onto track with my new facebook page and blog! If you'd like to see makeup tutorials on theses looks let me know and I will definitely do them sometime next week.I was over the moon to signing onto my blog to see I have 196 followers on GFC! As a big thanks to my lovely followers once I hit 200 followers I'm going to do a giveaway so keep an eye out!

As some of you may know I qualified as a makeup artist which I'm over the moon about! A few weeks ago we recieved some of our images from our photoshoot. These are my Bridal, Black&White photography and Evening looks. The model I had was stunning as you can see which made it so easy to do her makeup! I'm delighted with the looks I came up with for my photoshoot because they suited her really well, which was a bonus. I'm still waiting on two images which are Era and Avant Garde.. I'm a bit nervous about how they turned out because I wasn't really prepared. I loved every minute of doing the photoshoot and I'm hoping to do some more soon to build up my portfolio! Once I recieve my next two images I will post them up on my blog to show you all!

Liner & Statement Lips

Hey girls! Hope you all had a great week. I've been away from my blog yet again.. I've been working full time hours in work this week so it was impossible to try squeeze at least one post in between the crazy hours I have been working.. But it will be all well worth it come pay day cha chingggg. I haven't had the best week unfortunately I have had my ups and downs and thank god for my day off today I'm feeling much better and ready to start over. There are so many posts I use to update you all on which I haven't really been doing lately so I'm going to start back into my blog routine with a Makeup Tutorial post. It has been so so long since I've done one of these. Most of my makeup posts are day time looks so I'm going to be focusing on some night time makeup. So keep checking out my blog for some tips and tricks on achieving the looks I will be showing you!

Statement lips are big this Autum/Winter so I encourage you all to give it a go. This is my favourite look. I always opt for a brown/black smokey eye heading out on the town but I've always wanted to try something different. At the moment Deep Berry colours are the statement lips this season as I'm sure you are all aware.. but I have a much love for my Deep purple lipstick from MAC. I bought this a few months back. I'm Qualifed!

*Sneak peek from my photo shoot!

Hey girls, hope everyone is well! I've been away from blogging the past few weeks I had lots of posts planned for my blog but unfortunately things came up, and I got more hours in work. But I can't complain because more money means more makeup! Speaking of makeup and you probably guessed by the title of my post and photo's.. Today I got my results from college and I'm delighted to announce I am now a qualifed makeup artist!
I'm over the moon! I wasn't expecting to be getting the results today until a class mate told me she got her results. For about an hour I was refreshing my mails waiting to get that dreaded mail. It was very nerve wrecking! Incase your a new follower I'll fill you in..

I studied Professional Makeup Artistry in Vanity X Academy. The course was 14 weeks and it was two nights a week from 7-9.30. I did it along with my sister, who also passed! Woohoo! Anyway, the course included day time, evening, era's, glamour, male, mature, introduction to special affects makeup. I have a huge passion for makeup I've always had an interest in and I was hooked into watching YouTube channels like pixiwoo, SWalkerMakeup, Kandee Johnson and many more. I had some knowledge going into the class but there was a few things that I wanted to learn about more like filling and shaping eyebrows, how to contour properly and the worse of all gel liner!

It's amazing looking back on the work I've done throughout the course and seeing how much I improved. I had a few different tutors throughout the course, which had it's ups and downs but it was great to see how different makeup artists work and get new tips and tricks. It was the best decision I made doing this course, it also helped my confidence big time. I'm a very shy person and bit ashamed to admit I haven't got great confidence in myself! But this course has helped me so much interacting, making new friends, the makeup industry is a whole different world! At the moment I'm going to stick working away with H&M and start doing freelance makeup and getting in touch with photographers to build up my port folio. I'm hoping to do some work experience as well to help me build my confidence and it's something I can put down onto my C.V

If your have a big passion for makeup like myself go and do a course! It's a qualification and it's something you can always fall back on in times like today. If you just want to do makeup for yourself I wouldn't recommend doing a part time course, definitely go to a qualifed makeup artist. You'll pay so much money for a course and you'll end up dropping out. Rememeber these courses your being graded throughout classes, written exams, homework, everything! A lot of time and effort goes into the course and because it was only 14 weeks it feels like one minute you have no homework and the next you've tonnes to catch up on! Unfortunately, my graduation isn't til the start of November, that will be when I get my Diploma! But in the meantime I'm going to concentrate on makeup looks!

New Look - Boots

I was s on a roll last week blogging to my hearts content! Unfortunately towards the weekend I became sick which ruined my whole weekend. This week I've been up to my eyes in work I've gotten loads of hours which I'm not complaining about. But its been a bit of a mental week so far compared to last week. During the week myself and my siser booked a workshop for next Sunday, it's all about the eyes. I'm so so excited to do it, refresh my memory and learn some new tips and tricks! I love seeing what makeup is in other makeup artists kits too. Anyway, that's what I have up to lately due to my lack of blogging sorry girls! But I do have some posts lined up so be sure to keep checking my blog! Onto the boots..

I am super excited to wear Autumn/Winter clothes.. especially shopping! Theres just something about Winter clothes shopping I love! I was in absolute need of a nice pair of ankle boots. Something I could wear casually during the day not looking too done up and something I could wear for casual drinks in the pub! Yes, I love a few drinks and I don't always like dressing up everytime I head to the pub.. Theses were perfect for what I needed. I love the height of the heel, it's not too small and it's nice too high. The buckles and cut out part are my fave part they make the boots look more 'dressy'
They only cost €29.99 which is a great price for such good quality boots. I can see myself wearing these a lot during the Autumn/Winter months.

Unfortunately I'm working all weekend.. all lates too! But I suppose it's a good way to save my money because I've lots of things coming up the next few months, birthdays, Christmas and I'm hoping to do a few photo shoots for my portfolio! And I'm going to a Beauty show! I've never been to it before so I'm really looking forward to it and I want to do lots of saving, I'm planning to get myself a new makeup kit and few other bits. Sooo excited.

Have you started A/W shopping yet?

MAC MSF&Paint Pot

Hey girls! Sorry about the delay of this post today. The past two days I've tried uploading photo's on this and it's literally taking a half an hour to load one! If you have me on Twitter you probably seen me tweeting about this lol. Anyway I got my photo's loaded in the end yay! It was my first pay day from coming back off my holidays so I decided to treat myself, I went shopping on Sunday with my boyfriend and of course because I dragged him shopping I talked him into going to the pub after to watch a football match. I couldnt say no after I was dragging him back and forth into shops complaining that I couldn't get any nice tops! In the end the clothes I did buy I'm bringing back.. WHY can I not find any nice clothes?! All the new season is literally sold out but I'm planning on going shopping tomorrow since I've nothing left in my wardrobe after getting rid of tonnes of stuff the other day. Hopefully I will find a few things I like tomorrow! I had BT2 gift card and there was still some money left on it so I decided to spend the rest and picked up these two beauties!

I have the Mac Mineral Skinfinish in Gold Deposit a good while now and I absolutely love it! So I HAD to get another one. As you've read before I'm trying build up my makeup kit so I wanted all the basics to start out with. I am obsessed with highlighters, they make such a difference to your makeup and it gives an illusion of a structured cheekbone. MACs Soft&Gentle is a well known product to a lot of makeup artists and I guarantee you they have it in there kit. These photo's were taking off my iPhone so they don't do it any justice. It's a cream colour with a silver/gold pigment and believe me it looks amazing on! I only got this on Sunday and I have been using it since.

When it came to the Paint Pot I was stuck between Painterly and Constructivist. I honestly couldn't decide. Painterly acts as a base as well as a primer and you can use it on any skin type, which is very ideal for my makeup kit. I had my debs back in 2011 and I got my makeup done in MAC the makeup artist used Constructivist on my lid and I absolutely loved it. I have the whole list of products she used on me that day because I loved my makeup. I decided the best one to go for was Painterly because I'm starting out and I need all my basics in first. Unfortunately, she didn't have Painterly but I'm actually delighted I picked this up anyway. I have my Urban Decay primer and a lot of base shadows so that will do for my next pay day!

These are stunning shades I'm delighted I picked them up. I was like a kid at Christmas in the MAC shop. I couldn't decide whether to get a new lipstick or eyeshadow for myself, I'm so happy I went for these two products. I literally want every Mineral Skinfinish and Paint Pot in EVERY colour! You might be able to tell from this post but I'm a huge lover of MAC. Hopefully one day I will be a MAC girl. Unfortunately, I've to wait a few weeks for my results from college, I'm dying to know how I did, but I will do another course to add to my C.V. I think it's time I start putting myself out there now so if I have any Irish readers I'm doing freelance makeup for any occasion debs, parties, etc. If you liked to see some images of work I've done feel free to leave me an email & I'll send them onto you!

What do you think of MSF&Paint Pots from MAC?
What's your favourite?

Catrice Primer & Setting Powder

I originally wanted to have this post up yesterday but unfortunately my blogger was acting up and my photo's were taking FOREVER to upload. So I'm behind my little schedule on my blog, boo! But that means there will be more posts to read this week. I can't believe this is the last week of Summer, it went by sooo quick. I had a great summer filled with college, parties, weddings, birthdays and my holiday to Bulgaria. Now that Autumn is nearly here and the new season collections are hitting the shops I'm excited to get my wooly cardies and boots out! Yesterday I sorted out my wardrobe taking all my summer clothes out, putting them away and taking my Autumn/Winter clothes out. My wardrobe looks so empty and dull! I honestly don't know what I'll be wearing until my next pay day. I also got rid of a few things that and I ended up having 5 bags of clothes and 4 bags of shoes, I'm such a clothes hoarder! I done some shopping last Sunday and bought a few bits that I will be posting about sometime during the week, I haven't done a fashion/haul post in so long I think it's time I write one so keep an eye out for it!

Building a makeup kit is very expensive at the start. You really have to invest in your products but there are times where you really need a specifc produt and theres little funds in the bank. In college we had kits with everything you needed and there was a few Catrice products. Catrice is a super cheap brand mainly aimed at teenagers(i'm guessing) You instantly think that cheaper brands haven't got great quality compared to other brands but you'd be surprised! The great thing about being a student makeup artist is testing and reading up on different products, whats great and whats not. It all depends on what YOU think works well for your kit.

Primer and translucent setting powder are ESSENTIAL key products in any makeup kit whether it's your own personal makeup. If you have oily skin I reccommend using a primer before applying foundation. A primer will even out your skin tone and your skin will appear more smoother. It's like a barrier that will make your makeup stay on longer and it will stop your oily skin from wiping away your makeup! You'd be surprised that my makeup lasts all day when I use this primer and it is unbelievably so soft when applying. This primer rougly cost around €5 which is so cheap for the great quality that it is.

When it comes to a loose setting powder.. translucent is the best one you can get. Why?! well I'll come across so many different skin types I'd be crazy to have a million setting powders in different shades when I could easily pick this one. It won't change the colour of your foundation and if you have oily skin it will reduce the shine. Applying a setting powder makes it easier to remove any fall outs from eyeshadows or if you get a splash of mascara/eyeliner where it shouldn't be! Believe me it has happend a few times during my course! This powder makes the skin feel super soft you will be amazed. A few years back I used to NEVER set my foundation and I'm cringing at the thought of it now, lol! This cost around the same as the primer too!

My next primer I want to try out is the Smashbox primer,I've heard great reviews on this primer. It's quite expensive so I will wait til I get more work in the makeup industry before buying this product for my kit. Even though these products are so cheap I am happy with the quality of them, I've used them throughout my course and on my photo shoots and that says something! If your looking for a cheap and cheerful primer or setting powder I really recommend these products.

What's your favourite primer&setting powder?
Have you tried anything from the Catrice range?

Current obsession | INGLOT

Theres one thing that I absolutely love and that is buying new makeup! There literally is no better feeling, especially for my makeup kit! Inglot has been in my local shopping centre for I don't know how long and a few weeks ago was my first time in the shop.. would you believe that? I'm constantly in the shopping centre and I've only set foot once in the shop! From friends and people in college I've heard great reviews on this brand and I have been always dying to try them out. I literlly wanted everything they had to offer from foundation to body pigments. Since I'm gradually building my makeup kit I'm always on the look out for good brands with good prices. Inglot seem to have a lot of different offers on and my luck these palettes were only €15 each! So for €30 I picked up 5 concealers and 5 lipsticks? Where can you go wrong! With the help of the girl on the counter she gave me the basic & popular lipstick shades. Before I go buying bright colours I really need to get all my basics in my kit like neutral eyeshadows etc.

The first lipstick is really pale but it can be mixed with any of the other lipsticks in the palette and that's mostly what I do! I love mixing two products together even blushers. So I got a really pale shade, two pinks, a gorgeous orange toned lipstick and a red. Can't go wrong with a classic red lipstick and your bound to find someone wanting a red lip! I got a colour corrector in the concealer palette, two pink tones & 3 yellow tone concealers. Because these were only costing me €30 I decided on getting a gel liner. I was using liquid eyeliners and now since my course I have been hooked on using gel liners I am literally obsessed! I already have a black gel liner so I decided to pick up a brown gel liner for my bridal looks in college. Brown gel liners are great when you really want your eyeshadow to pop rather than your liner and it's gorgeous on brides.

I am really impressed with the quality of these products for their price. They last all day and when I tested them out for myself I didn't have to touch anything up! The palettes can be refilled when there used up for €5 too which is not bad compared to other brands. My next purchases out of Inglot will be some eyeshadows and a new gel liner. If you haven't tried any Inglot products before I recommend you do and keep your eyes peeled for their great offers!

Review | MAC Face&Body Foundation

Hey girls hope your having a good start to the week. Yesterday I had my second last class in college! I can't believe those 14 weeks are already up, the course flew in. I'm so glad I decided to do it I've learned so much from it and it's definitely what I want to get into as a career. I was beginning to feel quite nervous on my way to college yesterday because we had our first photo shoots. We had a bridal, evening and black & white. As soon as I got into class my nerves actually settled and I was dying to get started. I'm really happy with how the looks turned out on my model and the photo's the photographer took turned out great, I am dying to get them! The room was packed full of people and the heat was unbelievable from straighteners, etc. But thankfully it didn't get the best of me and either did my nerves. I will post photo's soon of these looks. Tomorrow is era and avant garde, I'm still undeceive on both these looks. I've no clue whether to do a 50s or 60s and I'm a bit clueless of creating something for avant garde. I've some idea's but hopefully they turn out well. All suggestions are welcome!

Since I've started the course we've had a few different tutors and they all used different make up and had different techniques. It was a great way to see how different make up artists work and seeing what products each artist liked to use. It also broaden my knowledge on products I've never heard of and ones that I did hear of but never knew what they were actually for. You couldn't even imagine how much I have learned from watching how they all work. When I started my course the first thing I was dying to learn about was foundation. Reason being I didn't know what skin type I was and I was thinking was I wearing the right colour. As we all know its quite hard to find a specific foundation you like. Imagine trying to find the best one to have in a make up kit!

One of my tutors was doing a demo in class and she was using the MAC face & body foundation. When she applied the foundation it looked so flawless on the models face and there wasn't much concealing to do. After I seen this I was dying to try it out! I always wear MAC studio fix fluid foundation which is a full coverage foundation and when your wearing it, it does feel like your wearing a lot of make up. I was going on my holidays so I wanted something a little lighter for night time and something that would feel fresh but yet giving a nice full coverage. I like to change shades of my foundation every time I run out, I usually change NC35 to NC37. So in face&body I picked up C5 which is similar. I always wear tan so this is much darker than my natural skin tone.

This foundation is water based so when I'm applying the foundation I like to use a stifling foundation brush and then I like to buff it in with my buffing brush. It's a medium coverage foundation but it can be easily buildable which is what I love about this foundation. And it's cheaper than studio fix fluid, not a huge difference in the price but at least it's saving something! Another great thing about this foundation is it's a 50ml. Studio fix fluid is only 30ml and that foundation lasts ages so I can imagine how long face&body is going to last me. There is no SPF in it so it's perfect for photo's.

This foundation is definitely going to be in my makeup kit. It gives a flawless look to the face, it's a 50ml bottle, it's buildable and say goodbye to white face and tanned body! What more could you want?! I know this foundation has been on the market a long time now and I'm sure a lot of you have tried this before. But if you haven't you really should, I'm so impressed with this foundation I think  I will be using it for awhile. It's definitely a must if your heading off on holidays too!

Have you tried this foundation before?
whats your favourite foundation?

College Work - Smokey Eye

Hey girls, hope your all having a good week. Feels like I haven't been blogging in so long! I've been away on holiday the past two weeks with my boyfriend which I will post about sometime next week. I didn't get home til midnight on Monday and I was in my course the following day and I was back to work Wednesday! Definitely feeling the holiday blues.. Yesterday was my last class in college, I had two written exams and a practical exam. I'm hoping I did enough to pass so fingers crossed! And I'm delighted with how my look turned out last night, gel liner is one of my weaknesses and thanks to my new brush (and lots of practicing) I got it spot on, yay! Next week I've photo shoots that I'm a bit nervous about. 3 looks one after the other, eek! Since my course is coming to an end I thought I'd give you all a peak at some looks I did in class and at home. I'm hoping my sister doesn't mind me putting these photo's up! She has her own blog to just click here to check it out. She has done some gorgeous looks to in class. Before class I picked up a new foundation palette for my make up kit as I needed it for my photo shoots next week. I now have all my basic's in my kit, finally! It takes so long to build up a make up kit but I'm getting there slowly but surely.. Oh, and I'd like to say thanks to my new followers without you I wouldn't be close to nearly 200 followers! yay! Anyway onto the look.. this is the first smokey eye I did in class. It's a look I always do on myself so I had a bit of practising already! Before I start.. I didn't give enough time for the eyelashes unfortunately! So if you'd like to know how I achieved this look keep reading..

Naked Flushed Palette

Hey girls, finally the weekend is here and the sun is shining! Unfortunately for me I've to work all weekend but it is my birthday on Wednesday and I'm heading away next Sunday so I'm not too depressed that I've to work in this weather! Since I've changed my blog name I have noticed I can't see any of my old posts anymore, they're coming up on my blog but when I click onto them it's saying it doesn't exist, very annoying! So I thought I'd repost some posts that had the most views on just incase your searching through my blog and you can't seem to read them either. Does anyone know how I can get my old posts to appear on my blog again?

Revlon Colorstay Eyeshadow

Hey girls, I've been having a mental week, I've been working long hours but suppose it's a good thing come pay day! Lately in college we've been getting so much more homework now that were half way through the course, I've so many looks to add to my folder, moodboards and class notes. Very hectic I must say. I've been doing lots of shopping latey because I'm heading off to Bulgaria next week for 2 weeks, so so excited I've had the holiday booked since January and finally the countdown is on yay! And on top of all that I'm trying to get some me time! I never have a minute to myself anymore. I am literally on the go non stop. So I sat down this evening to blog as my 'me time' to unwind.

Soft Brown Smokey Eye

I sat down during the week and start messing around with my makeup experimenting with new colours and not so new colours. I usually stick to one technique when I'm applying my eyeshadow and I wanted to try a new technique I haven't done before. I came up with this look using my Stila In The Light palette and only ONE Mac eyeshadow.. such a change for me! I'm literally forever wearing MAC makeup.. Unfortunately, my photo's didn't turn out great because I did this look at night.. in future I will definitely be doing looks during the day! Anyway these will have to do for now. I started off with a base all over my lid, contoured my eye with a light matte brown but I stopped half way, I kept going in with a darker brown and blended it out well. I applied two different shades of gold to just my lid, gently pressing the product. One gold I used  is a very pale colour and the other was a warmer gold. It was my first time mixing two gold shades together and I have to say it works really well together! I tied the look up blending lightly with a clean brush and dusted Rule by Mac slightly on top of the brown. I used Hoola by benefit and a blush from my Crown blusher palette. On my lips I penciled them in with Oak from Mac and a nude lipstick. I took photo's of steps to achieve this look on my phone but they didn't turn out that great so in daylight I will recreate this look. And since the sun has joined us the past week I will do a Summer look!

Hey girls. I'm sure many of you have seen a lot of talk about Google Reader and switching to Bloglovin' At the start I didn't really understand what was going on, I was reading posts and things on google saying that you'll loose all your followers. The whole reason for Google Reader going is the new Google+ and personally I'm not a fan of the new layout. So bascially whats going to happen is when you sign into your blog your followers have disappeared, which is pretty crap! But thank god for Bloglovin' you can easily import all your favourite blogs onto the site. If you don't have Bloglovin' I recommend you set one up! Nearly every blogger has a Bloglovin' button on their blog,
First, I didn't see the point in having it but after I got use to the site I am literally addicted. It's great for finding new blogs and expanding your own.

Whats so great about Bloglovin'? You can download the app onto your iPhone and all your favourite bloggers will pop on a 'timeline' as such.. with their new posts. So instead of opening up the laptop trying to remember the URL links of people's blog, you have them all on the same site! I've come across amazing blogs on Bloglovin' that I wouldn't have found myself.

If your on Bloglovin' please let me know and I will follow you! I have my Bloglovin' button on the right hand side of my blog, I would greatly appreciate the follow! If you haven't set up a Bloglovin' click here to do so. To import all your favourite blogs click here

Check out my blog tomorrow for a new makeup tutorial!

Review - Revlon Lipbutters

Hey girls. Welcome to my new and improved blog, if your a regular reader you would have noticed I changed around my blog a little and I have renamed my blog to 'MakeupWithElla'
I think my choosen name suits my blog so much better as I want to base my blog mainly around makeup since I'm studying Professional Makeup Artistry and I want my blog to be part of it. In next few weeks I will be putting much more effort and time into my blog I have many makeup looks that I'm dying to post about but today I'm going to stick with a review and tomorrow I will be posting on a makeup look so be sure to check it out!
I bought these two lipbutters quite awhile ago, I tend to be glued to certain lipsticks go off them and come back to them. Lately, I have drawn myself back to these beauties. I am sure many of you have these lipbutters so you'll know all about them, reason I'm posting about them is the colour. Statement lips are really in trend lately and I love the pigmentation of these lipsticks. I couldn't get a great photo of them swatched unfortunately but the colours came out well enough to show you.
Looking at 'Candy Apple' you'd think it be quite red but turns out it has a dark pink tone to it, I'm not a crazy fan of red/pink lips so before I apply this, I put a tiny bit of foundation and powder to take the redness out of my lips. The colour comes up more clean and crisp and it's great for achieving the statement lip look.
'Juicy Papaya' is my favourite. I love lipsticks that have an orange tone they are perfect for everyday wear especially during the summer months. You don't have to block out the colour in your lips to apply this lipstick. Layering the lipstick will do fine and the colour comes out a gorgeous pale orange colour. During the next few weeks I'll post makeup looks using these lipsticks to show you better in photo's.

Knowing my skin type

So your probably thinking oh my god another boring moisturiser post! This post is more so a review/why I'm using it, etc. I read so so many posts on different products and many of which don't mention why they're using the product (other than they love it so much) I could do a blog post on anything and tell you it's this and that. Realistically, just because I say I love it and it works well with me it might be different with you. So yeah, this post will go into as much depth and information on my skin type.

I never knew what face products to use from cleanser to moisturisers. I had no idea what skin type I was until I started college! I always thought I had dry skin as it was so flaky on my forehead, around my nose and sometimes a little on my cheeks! But in fact, it was the face wipes I was using to take my makeup off with had left my skin dehydrated. I have to tell you I was shocked and couldn't believe that was the problem. More so it was difficult to hide these flaky bits as at times my makeup would appear a bit cakey! I actually have more oily skin than dry, mainly around my t-zone and the oily skin was causing my skin to break out. Now by reading this you may think my skin was in bits, but it wasn't that bad.

I stopped using my facewipes to take off my makeup and started to use Simple kind to fresh cleanser and toner, and I moisturised well. I was amazed in the difference my skin is in ever since I have stopped using facewipes. Facewipes to me are literally the devil! I will never go near them again, unless I've been out on a night out or being tired. Having said that my skin can still feel a bit dry but that has got to do with the lack of water intake. I really need to start getting into a healthy buzz! That's also key for having flawless skin which I will go through on another post soon.

Now knowing what skin type I was I really wanted to get a moisturiser that was 'designed' for my skin, personally Nivea is my favourtie brand for moisturiers to shower gels. I really like thick moisturisers but not too thick and the products feel so nice on my skin. Unfortunately, I can never get rid of my oily skin, it's due to an overactive oil gland that I just need to control! I love the size bottle it comes in, I can pop it into my bag to reuse during the day if I'm not wearing any makeup. It cost me roughly €4 I think, I'm not too sure but I know it was cheap enough. It definitely hydrates my skin really well, reduces shine and it gives a fresh feeling to my face. My sister is also doing the same course as myself and since I've switched around my skin care routine she can even notice it!

As I said at the start of the post, it may work differently for you. If your not sure what skin type you are or if you feel your skin is drying out or oily some places, do your research or take a look at the products your using. Are they making your skin irriated thats causing redness? are they drying out your skin? Majority of skin types are oily. If you have any questions feel free to ask! I'm no expert but I certainly know why & how my skin was bad and how I could change it.
